PATTAYA, Thailand – On May 12th, 2025, the Sanctuary of Truth, a renowned cultural landmark in Pattaya, was officially recognized by the World Book of Records in London, as the largest wooden museum in the world. A certificate presentation ceremony took place at 11:00 AM at the Sanctuary.
Mr. Worakorn Viriyapan, Vice President of the Sanctuary of Truth Museum, warmly welcomed Dr. Apinita Chaichana, representative of the World Book of Records, along with her delegation. The ceremony was also attended by Mr. Pichan Viriyapan, the founder and chairman of the Sanctuary, alongside museum staff who joined in celebrating the occasion.
In his remarks, Mr. Worakorn expressed pride and joy on behalf of the museum’s management and staff. “This recognition from the World Book of Records is a testament to the dedication and commitment of everyone at the Sanctuary of Truth,” he said. “Our goal has always been to create a living museum that showcases art, culture, and philosophies of peaceful living, in line with the vision of our founders. This certification affirms our mission to make the Sanctuary a cultural gem of Pattaya and a beacon for visitors worldwide.”
The Sanctuary of Truth, located in Pattaya, was established on August 31st, 1981, by Mr. Lek and Mrs. Praphai Viriyapan. Their ambition was to create a monument that embodies Eastern wisdom, artistry, and philosophy. Designed to be a cultural and spiritual hub, the Sanctuary stands as a testament to their resolve to preserve and share the essence of Thai heritage with future generations.
