Car Crashes into Roadside Eatery Amid Rainy Conditions Near Pattaya

CHONBURI, Thailand – On May 27th, 2025, at approximately 3:00 PM, a car accident occurred on Highway 331 heading toward Bowin in Khao Mai Kaew. Local police from Huay Yai Police Station received reports of a sedan losing control, colliding with a parked vehicle, and crashing into a roadside noodle shop, causing injuries and damage.

At the scene, authorities found a grey Nissan Almera that had rear-ended a grey Ford pickup truck parked along the road. The sedan then veered onto the sidewalk, smashing into a noodle shop, destroying glass cabinets, a hot water pot, tables, and dishes. The driver, Ms. Patchareeya Apisutthisan, 38, sustained minor injuries. Three Chinese passengers were also in the vehicle, with one, Mr. Hongxiao Xu, 42, suffering a head injury. Rescue volunteers from Sawang Boriboon Pattaya provided first aid and transported the injured to a nearby hospital.

Ms. Patchareeya told The Pattaya News that she was driving straight when a white Toyota Fortuner suddenly cut in front of her. Braking abruptly on the rain-slicked road caused her car to lose control, collide with the parked pickup, and crash into the noodle shop.

Mr. Jakrayus, 31, the shop owner, described the chaotic scene. He was preparing noodles while customers dined when he noticed the out-of-control car. He shouted for everyone to take cover and jumped out of the way as the sedan plowed into the shop, damaging equipment and furnishings. Fortunately, no one in the shop was injured.
Police are investigating the incident, and the damaged shop is assessing losses. The rainy conditions are believed to have contributed to the accident, highlighting the dangers of wet roads.
